Our team consists of speech pathologists, psychologists and occupational therapists.

We are all independent practitioners but have come together to provide services under the Helping Children with Autism Initiative and the Better Start Initiative.



Sharon 2014 Sharon Gill

 Title: Speech Pathologist and Director, Partners in Communication

 About: Sharon is an experienced paediatric speech pathologist having worked in rural Victoria before commencing work in Melbourne.

 She has extensive experience in early intervention, in both primary and secondary schools   and in private practice.

 She has a post-graduate diploma in learning disabilities and is PROMPT, Hanen, PECS and   SAS Social Skills trained. She has a special interest in working in the area of Social  Cognition and runs social skills groups for pre-schoolers - adolescents.

Title - Speech Pathologist

About - Jayne is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist with nine years experience working with a varied paediatric caseload. She has worked in the UK, New Zealand and has been based in Melbourne for over 4 years. Jayne has experience in the assessment and treatment of children with language delay, social communication difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorders, motor speech difficulties, literacy difficulties and stuttering. She has worked in private practice and most recently within schools where she has developed a strong interest in the links between language, literacy and learning. Jayne is trained in Hanen: It Takes Two to Talk, PROMPT, PECS and The Lidcombe Program.

Title: Speech Pathologist
 
Kimberley has ten years experience as a paediatric speech pathologist. She has worked in private practice with a wide variety of children. She enjoys forming a good rapport with her students and families.
Kimberley has extensive experience in the areas of Autism Spectrum Disorders, Dyspraxia, receptive/expressive language delay, developmental delay, phonological awarness, motor speech, hearing impairment and learning difficulties.
She is also trained in the following areas:
Hanen, BLADES, PROMPT, PECS, Introduction to DIR/Floortime.

Title: Speech Pathologist 

About: Elena is a certified practising speech pathologist with more than 12 years of experience.

She works at an early intervention service in the eastern suburbs and also runs her own private practice from home in the Dandenong Ranges.

Elena has completed a course on the DIR/Floortime Model. 

This program helps children to emotionally relate and communicate meaningfully. 

 

 

 

Jackie SikicJackie Sikic

Title: Occupational Therapist

About: Jackie is an occupational therapist and the director of Kid Link Occupational Therapy, a private practice based in Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs. Jackie provides intervention in schools, homes, the community and her clinic in Vermont, with the view of optimising inclusion while developing the skills of children and adolescents. Jackie specialises in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, motor planning difficulties or learning difficulties. Jackie is passionate about building confidence and independence in children by working closely with families to achieve their goals.

Title: Speech Pathologist 

About: Helen Boutsis is a Speech Pathologist with 20 years specialist experience in working with children with a variety of communication difficulties including language disorders, articulation, social skills, fluency and voice. 

Helen has a special interest in the assessment and management of Autism Spectrum Disorders and working with children and their families. She is SAS social skills trained.

 

 Stacy Cohen

Title: Speech Pathologist

Stacy Cohen is an experienced Speech Pathologist working with both preschool and school-aged children and their families. Stacy has special interests in the treatment of children with speech and language delays, developmental delays, mealtime management issues as well as children with Complex Communication Needs (CCN) associated with physical and developmental disabilities, apraxia of speech and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Qualifications include: BA (Psychology and Linguistics); MsC (Speech Pathology). Additional training includes: Hanen ‘It Takes Two to Talk’; PECS; PROMPT (level 1 and 2) therapy She is a Victorian Keyword Sign (Makaton) trainer and a National Presenter in the use of Pragmatic Organisational Dynamic Display (PODD) communication books, developed by Gayle Porter through The Cerebral Palsy Education Centre (CPEC). Stacy works part-time at CPEC and the remaining time in her private practice.

Bridget Knol

Title: Speech Pathologist 

About: Bridget is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist with 14 years experience working with a range of children from toddlers to preschool and primary school children and their families. Bridget has a special interest in the treatment of children with speech and language delays, developmental delays, oral motor speech delays, late talkers, Apraxia of Speech (also referred to as Dyspraxia), social communication difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and literacy difficulties. She has completed extensive training across level 1 and 2 of PROMPT and she specialises in working with children with motor speech difficulties.

Title: Psychologist 

About: Ann Laufer BA., Post Grad. Dip. Psych. (Hons), Post .Grad. Dip. Mental Health Science (Child, Adolescent & Family Therapies), Dip Clinical Medical Hypnosis, Cert..Child & Adolescent. CBT, Cert Conflict Resolution.
Ann is a FaHCSIA registered psychologist who specializes in assessing children and adults for Autistic Spectrum Disorder. ASD therapy for the individual as well as a family approach based on ASD psych education including parent-work, sibling-work and couple-work is available.
 

 

 

Julie Liptak

Title: Speech Pathologist

Julie Liptak is a Speech Pathologist with over 20 years experience in working with children and their families.

Julie is passionate about play based learning for young children and the overlap between language, interaction and education.

Julie is Hanen trained has worked as an educational consultant and now works with a range of children from toddlers to preschool and primary school children with language, learning and communication needs including those with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

 

BronwynBronwyn Parry-Fielder

Title: Speech Pathologist  

About: Bronwyn Parry-Fielder ( B.App Sci (Speech Path), M Ed St) has worked mainly at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, where she was manager of the Speech Pathology Department for 22 years.

Her particular clinical and research interests have been in the areas of Childhood Apraxia of Speech and the relationship between speech language disorders and epilepsy in children.

In her private practice she sees children aged 12 months to 6 years with a variety of speech and language disorders.

 

HeidiHeidi Rees

Title: Speech Pathologist

About: Heidi is a Speech Pathologist with 16 plus years experience in working with children with a variety of communication difficulties including language disorders, articulation, literacy, dyspraxia, phonological disorders, learning difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorders including Asperger's and fluency. She has worked in community health settings, an intensive 'live in' therapy setting, been a flying Speech Pathologist in NSW and has had many years in Private Practice.

Heidi is trained in PECS, Blades, PROMPT and DIR Floortime.

Felicity is a certified practising speech pathologist with 18 years experience.  She has worked in Community Health, Early Intervention, primary schools, special schools and private practice.  She operates a private practice in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

 Felicity is trained in Blades, PECS, TEACCH, Makaton, and a range of social skills programmes.  Felicity is committed to working from a family-centred approach to assist children with ASD and other speech and language difficulties.

 

 

Melanie Scott

Title: Speech Pathologist

Melanie is a Speech Pathologist with 18 years of experience in working with children with a range of communication disorders and their families. She has worked across a range of settings including hospital based, early intervention, educational settings, out-reach and community health. 

Melanie offers assessments and intervention to children with speech and language delays, developmental delay, dyspraxia and autism spectrum disorders. She is trained in Hanen (It Takes Two To Talk), PROMPT and PECS. Melanie works closely with other professionals to meet child and family goals.

About: Marcella has more than twenty years experience in education, working with students, parents and schools in both the State and Catholic systems. Particular interests include the areas of language learning difficulties, literacy, phonological disorders and autism spectrum disorder.

She is Hanen and SAS Social Skills trained and enjoys working with children of all ages.

 

SuzanneSuzanne Wakefield

Title: Occupational Therapist

 About: Suzanne has experience working with children and their families for over 20 years in a variety of settings. She is interested in assisting children with sensory processing disorders (SPD) and has extensive experience in the area. She is also a trainer for SPD in Australia. Qualifications include: M. App.Sc (OT); B. App Sc (OT). Training in NDT, Sensory Integration, DIR/Floortime and Halliwick swimming methods. She is pictured with her son, Josh.

Title: Speech Pathologist

About: Mimi is a paediatric speech pathologist with over 13 years experience. She has a particular interest in early intervention and helping children with ASD. Using an holistic approach to therapy, Mimi works with the child and their family to provide the best outcomes.  Mimi is qualified in Hanen, PECS and has attended a number of ASD related seminars.

About: Kate has a Bachelor in Occupational Therapy/Applied Science. Kate is a director of Connecting-OT which specialises in working with children on the Autism Spectrum. Kate has a passion for consulting in schools, kinders and homes to support families with sensory processing, motor development, functional and development challenges.
